Exmouth, Devon.

One of my favourite things about living in Devon is being so close to the sea. I turned 20 on Thursday so as a little late celebration we decided to take a trip to beautiful Exmouth where we discovered a quaint country pub called Turf Locks, that you can only reach by foot, bike or kayak. 

With the sun making a rare appearance on Saturday, the place was filled with families, cyclists and tourists enjoying the glorious views from the beer garden and indulging on traditional British pub grub. We sampled the tasty gourmet toasties at lunch time but watched as plates piled high with fish and chips, chilli con carne and beef brisket were carried out past us. 

If you do find yourself in Devon this summer then Turf Locks would be a perfect day out - definitely go for the bike option if you don't fancy a twenty minute walk to this fairly remote pub - and see picturesque Devon at its best. When the weather is fine they even hold an outside BBQ.
